Emanuele Celesia (1821 - 1889)

Literate born in Finalborgo (SV), he was an active character in Genoa both politically and culturally. In 1865 he was appointed director of the Biblioteca Universitaria di Genova, and it is probably why there are numerous letters addressed to him. Its writing production was intense and its numerous publications can be briefly recalled: La Biblioteca Universitaria di Genova: cenni storici, Genova, 1872; the second volume of Storia dell'Università di Genova, Genova, 1867, which supplemented the work begun by Lorenzo Isnardi [See.: L.
